Victoria, BC Photo Diary

Victoria, BC Photo Diary

Having done my undergrad degree in Victoria, this city holds a special place in my heart. This had been the longest I had gone without visiting since I started school at UVic in 2013, and as you can imagine, I was so excited to be there again. We were blessed with gorgeous sunny days and an airbnb that was located right downtown. Perfect walking distance from all my favourite sights, stores, and restaurants.

Below are some of the shots from my four days in Victoria, BC. Although I didn’t take a ton I feel that they show you the diversity and beauty of this island town.

Unfortunately, the one thing this photo diary is lacking, is food. Trust me, Victoria has great food. So great, in fact, that I was so excited to eat I would forget to photograph my plate! Oops!

Victoria Waterfront

We walked along the waterfront and got to see this spectacular sunset ft. a water taxi.

I found out I’m terrified of geese – they’re moody and fly at you! Not a fan.

Butchart Gardens

Instagram-worthy shots in Butchart Gardens. Trust me, it took a while before we found somewhere with no tourists.

Fan Tan Alley

Fan Tan Alley – The smallest alley ever! You can go into the shops and get lost I swear.

Empress Hotel, Victoria

Stay here for a more luxurious trip or go for their high-tea. You’ll feel like royalty in no time.

Victoria Parliament Building

The Parliament Building. Probably my favourite building in Victoria.

Victoria Parliament Building

It’s just so photogenic, isn’t it?

Our lovely sitting room in our Airbnb. I feel like I should have been drinking kale smoothies while doing yoga in this place. Don’t you think?

Canada Flag

How patriotic of me for Canada’s 150th birthday.

Victoria Architecture

Victoria is full of fancy looking buildings. I want to sip a cocktail while looking out of those windows.

Cadboro Bay, Victoria

More geese. They’re everywhere I tell ya…

Last, but certainly not least. Everyone loves Chewie with a lightsaber.

Your Airbnb is so cute! I only visited Victoria on a brief ferry trip from Seattle when I lived out there. I wish I had been able to stay longer!

I grew up in Victoria! I moved away almost five years ago and have only been back to visit twice since, so it brings back a lot of nice memories to see the city through the perspective of a visitor. I’m so glad you lucked into some sunny days, that’s not always a given in Victoria, even in summer!

Chewie with a lightsaber!! You sure know the way to my heart haha. SO cool that you went to school in UVic. I’m from Vancouver so have been to Victoria a handful of times… it’s such a beautiful city, and you’ve captured it so well! <3 Have you had afternoon tea at the Empress? Super $$$ but worth it 🙂
